Hector Valdes studied sculpture in the “Escuela de Arte La Palma» in Madrid from 2017 to 2018, where he obtained a degree in Sculpting Techniques. His first expo took place in the Palazzo Bembo in Venice within the 57th Bienal de Venecia – which took place between may and october 2017 – where he merged surgery with art applied on “Body Paint” on nude canvases. This fusion, avanguard and not yet used, has been registered in his book “Atelier”, a compilation of photographs of the artwork at hand as well as small “behind the scenes” material with comments from the author.
Since then, he has remained active as a sculptor, thus consolidating an artistic career that began as a dream in his teenage years.

Parallel to his career as a plastic surgeon, Héctor Valdés has developed his vocation and passion for art by supporting artists, for whom he has promoted and provided exhibition rooms for over 30 years.
Active advocate for the practice of the visual arts in Chile, Valdés conceives CHILARTe in 2021, the first in-person and online art fair throughout the pandemic, in order to support with the dissemination and commercialization of art pieces by more than 100 artists from Santiago and regions that were affected by the health crisis. Between 2021 and early 2023, CHILARTe operates as an exhibition hall in Santiago’s Parque Arauco Luxury District. His support for Chilean artists goes further, as he acquires more than 600 works that are part of his private collection.
